FOMO for December 2019

FOMO stands for the Fear Of Missing Out and there are a lot of new programs and sew alongs starting in January. Check out the ones mentioned at our meeting.

Bonnie Hunter’s yearly mystery quilt started on a Black Friday but it is not too late to start. Lovely blues this year!

Start your temperature quilt on January 1st. Here is a tutorial. Here is another one. You will also find some designs on Instagram by searching #temperaturequilt.

You can find the monthly colours for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge on Angela’s Super Scrappy blog. 2020 isn’t ready quite yet but check back. It is fun to sew your scraps every month!

Crazy Quilter on a Bike, Elaine Theriault, is running 2 sew alongs. $25 for the online lessons throughout the year. You would also need to purchase the project book. Read about it at the bottom of this blog post.

The Pantone Colour of the year is Classic Blue. Here you can be inspired by the quilts made over the years by Debbie of A Quilter’s Table

Our avid English Paper Piecers might be interested in the Fussy Cutting Sewalong. The shape this year is the house. A different prompt each week. Run on Instagram.

And lastly, for those you like a class in person, Quilt Junction has a couple spots left in the Border Creek Mystery Quilt. Call them ASAP!

There are only a couple of spots left in our Vice President’s sewing days on February 8th and 9th. Contact Jill or Stephanie ASAP. 2 fun days of sewing at the Port Dover library with lunches for only $40.

If you were inspired by Kaaren Biggs’ presentation on Sun Bonnet Sue, check out this Around the World Sun Bonnet Sue and Sam sew along.

January 13th, 2020!

Mary McKenzie, a member of our own Twilight Quilters’ Guild will guide us through her creative process of designing her beautiful fabric wall art. She will start with the inspiration for the artistic piece, then add how she picks the fabric and finally the selection of embellishments and other parts. Mary will bring some of her fabric wall art pieces to show.

Meeting starts at 7pm at Old Windham Church in Simcoe. If the weather is poor, watch for an email about the meeting.
