For some of us the COVID lockdown was a struggle. For Valerie Prideaux, it was an opportunity. Stuck at home with her creativity, not to mention fabric stash, Valerie was able to indulge her curiosity and explore a single shape. The tumbler block. The outcome was 25 quilts, many of which are featured in her book Tumbler Quilts: Just One Shape, Endless Possibilities; Play with Color (sic) & Design, released in 2023.
In her talk on Monday, June 9, Valerie will focus on that single simple block and how she plays with colour. We will see many of the quilts she made, learn how the designs evolved, and hear some behind-the-scenes stories of having a quilt book published.
