Cheryl Arkison – A Little Mischievous …………a Lot Creative!

Inspiring you to laugh, play and embrace both life and fabric as they come.

Life is too short not to play with fabric. To play, period. Part instigator, part coach I love to get you exploring technique, ideas, colour and more as you dive into your stash. No piece is too small or too loud, fabric is meant to be used. Quilting, as is life, is about the process – the journey – not the product. Enjoy all of it knowing that each time you get your butt in the seat and sew you are giving a gift to yourself.

Cheryl will lead us through……BECOMING A 5-STAR QUILTER

What makes a truly great quilter? The pursuit of perfection drives a lot of quilters, but being a great quilter is far more than prize winning quilts and the approval of the quilt police. This trunk show covers the 5-Star Qualities that make a truly great quilter. None of them depend on a perfect ¼” seam allowance either!

Cheryl is a renowned Canadian quilter and quilt book author.

Whether you are a beginner or long-time quilter, you’re sure to find Cheryl a great source of inspiration, ideas and just fun! Be sure to tune into our September 14 meeting via Zoom @ 7pm Eastern time. Guests are welcome. Please see the guest section of our fees page.

See you in September!

Christa Watson in December!

Twilight Quilters’ Guild is excited to bring Christa Watson to members via Zoom on December 13, 2022. Not a member yet? You can solve that by joining online to see Christa and many more fantastic speakers and events!

Most quilters understand how important it is to practice machine-quilting designs on small fabric samples, but they often have trouble applying those designs to an actual quilt.

In this informative lecture, Christa will share her secrets for domestic machine-quilting success: adequate basting, choosing the right thread colours, thinking about how to divide and conquer each task, and learning how to create rich texture with little to no marking of the quilt.

Christa will also discuss the importance of making a quilting plan, so you can figure out the best path around the quilt with the fewest stops and starts. Once you see how easy and carefree her methods can be, you’ll feel empowered to quilt your own quilts!

You can learn more about Christa, her talents and offerings via Instagram at @christaquilts on her website Christaquilts.com or by joining her Christa Quilts Facebook Group!
